Laguna-lakes.com is a 100% independent, resident-controlled platform.

We are NOT affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by the Laguna Lakes Community Association (HOA), its Board of Directors, or Compass Rose Management.

We do NOT share your personal registration data, your email, or your resident status with the HOA or its property managers.

2. Information We Collect

To maintain the integrity of our "experiment" and protect the community, we collect:

• Verification Data: If you choose to access the resident-only dashboard, we may collect information to verify you are a neighbor (such as a redacted utility bill or lease snippet).
• Communication Data: Your email address if you sign up for accountability alerts or the community newsletter.
• User-Submitted Evidence: Photos, documents, or testimonials regarding selective enforcement, cured violations, or maintenance issues that you voluntarily upload to the transparency feed.
• Technical Logs: Standard data such as IP addresses and browser types, used strictly for security auditing to prevent unauthorized scraping or bot attacks by hostile actors.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your information to:

• Build a Paper Trail: Aggregating reports to identify patterns of mismanagement or selective enforcement by HOA contractors and property managers.

We maintain a strict "Wall" between our data and the entities we monitor.

• No Sharing with Management: We will never provide your email address or account status to Compass Rose Management or any HOA contractor.
• Anonymized Reporting: If we publish data regarding community-wide issues (e.g., "30 residents reported the same irrigation failure"), that data is always anonymized unless you explicitly grant permission to be named in a formal grievance.

Because we are building this with enterprise-grade security and bleeding-edge design, we use modern encryption to protect your data. This includes:
